COVID Testing

Testing:

UNL returned to random mitigation on Feb. 18th. As noted in Chancellor Green’s email on Feb. 15th and Eve’s email on Feb. 17th, this transition took place due to a successful decrease in positivity rates after three rounds of saliva testing. Spring saliva testing began on Jan. 19th with the use of the Safer Community app and was required for all faculty, staff, and students to gain access to campus buildings over the last month.

With the return to random mitigation testing protocols, faculty and staff are not required to have a recent negative test result to enter the CCFL office. However, we ask that faculty and staff continue to monitor their health and not come into the office if they have had a positive test result, feel unwell, or have recently been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

All COVID-19 safety protocols remain in place:
• Please always wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you are not in your own office with the door closed.
• Please wash and sanitize your hands frequently and thoroughly.
• Please maintain six feet distance between yourself and others whenever possible.

CCFL faculty and staff contacted for the random mitigation testing should plan on taking part, being mindful of all established UNL testing requirements and exceptions. You are also highly encouraged to schedule saliva testing for yourself as needed through the Safer Community app if you feel unwell or believe you have been exposed to the coronavirus. Vaccines:

As announced through email and social media, UNL employees living or working in Lancaster County were asked to register for the COVID-19 vaccine by Feb. 24th. When the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department moves into Phase 1B, higher education personnel registered for vaccination will be contacted.

If you missed UNL’s registration deadline and you are a Lincoln-Lancaster resident, you are encouraged to register with the city here: https://app.lincoln.ne.gov/city/covid19/vaccine.htm.
