Job Title: Training Specialist I

Description of Work: Training Specialist I will instruct and guide new Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS) Child and Family Services Specialist (CFSS) trainees or others designated by NDHHS in all components of pre-service training and in-service training, including: asynchronous self-paced instruction and synchronous classroom and webinar training, incorporating CFS policies and procedures. Training Specialist will work directly with trainees and existing staff to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to serve children and families within the Nebraska child welfare system, some travel may be required. Evenings and weekends may be required on occasion.

Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, or a closely related field and 2 years’ experience performing Child and Family Services case management in Nebraska, or closely related professional case management experience.
Work history will show: a working knowledge of policy and practice for child welfare in Nebraska; Public relations skills and experience working with attorneys, the courts, and community agencies; Flexibility, creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, or a closely related field.
Experience providing case management services with emphasis on navigation and documentation on N-FOCUS.
Experience in training adult learners. Experience in developing training curricula and role playing. Experience with juvenile court/legal system as a NDHHS case manager. Training, coaching, and/or mentoring experience. Curriculum development and delivery of adult educational courses. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, various software or platforms (e.g., WebEx, Moodle, Vimeo). Proofreading skill/experience is highly desirable; Willingness to participate in training role plays is desirable.

Job Title: Programmer

Description of Work: Develop web applications in support of activities and projects within the Center on Children, Families, and the Law (CCFL). This person will work primarily with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and modern PHP and Javascript frameworks.

Analyze and develop on-line database and web applications that securely store end-user demographic information. Work collaboratively with other University departments, state agencies, and the CCFL web development team to create and customize information systems and tools.

Implement, test, debug, and document the applications.

Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalency considered. Two years of related experience building complex Object-oriented web applications in a LAMP environment. Minimum of one year professionally developing in a PHP Framework. Competent in PHP programming, utilizing well-known design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional-level familiarity with at least one PHP Framework: ex) Code Igniter, Cake PHP, Symfony, Laravel Proficient in Javascript, including modern frameworks (React, Vue). Knowledge of current federal law regarding on-line accessibility (ADA and Section 508
