This year, I am most thankful for…..

Family. –Audine Oehm

I’m most thankful for my family! It was a year ago that my dad broke his neck for the second time…yes, you read that right! So, I know it sounds cliché, but I am so grateful that I have my family and my dad is all healed up again! –Angie Graham

This year, I am most thankful for my husband. He’s done such a great job of holding down the fort with three kids while I engaged in a hectic travel and school schedule. –Maggie Thompson

My family. –Christine Henningsen

What is your favorite thing about the Thanksgiving holiday?

Pumpkin pie, blueberry pie, lemon meringue pie, peach pie, and apple pie. Basically pie. –Chad Gressley

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, my family celebrates Thanksmas (our Thanksgiving-Christmas combo). Whether the Nebraska game is in Iowa or Nebraska, we go to watch the game at the stadium or a bar as a family on that Friday. (I have one sister that lives in Des Moines, Iowa and one in Omaha, Nebraska.) On Saturday morning, my sisters and I make the meal together. By the time dinner (lunch) is served, a large number of family show up to include foster siblings and their children. That’s my favorite thing about my Thanksgiving holiday. –Paulette Sombke

I love cooking with my family and enjoying the togetherness of the holiday. I also enjoy shopping with my sister after all the festivities when we can be together. –Melissa Mager

Other than getting a four day weekend?? Thanksgiving as opposed to most other Holidays is usually the one in which family doesn’t have plans for 2 to 3 days, which makes it one of my favorite. Thanksgiving is the one holiday in which my family stays and interacts the most. Nobody is usually in a hurry to get home to go to work the next day or get on the road. I enjoy any time that I am able to spend with family, especially with family that I don’t see often. I love catching up and learning about what is going on in their lives. Thanksgiving seems to be that holiday for my family in which everyone stays a little longer and talks a little more. PLUS, it doesn’t hurt that there is lots of food and lots of Football on!!! –Cody Struss

Black Friday Shopper….Yes or No????

NO WAY! –Chris Wiklund

YES! I love Black Friday. It is a tradition for my sister, my mom, and my in-laws to head out either late Thursday night, or early Friday morning to catch all of the great bargains! It gives me a jump start to my Christmas and birthday shopping since both of my boys are December birthdays as well! –Krista Roebke

That's a big NO from me...however I do support Small Business Saturday (the day after black Friday) as it helps put money back into our local economy! -Toby Burnham

No! –Kelli Hauptman

Absolutely not! Honestly, Christmas gifts are not exchanged in my home but celebrating friendships and life are encouraged in my home :) that and a LOT of good food. –Angela Gebhardt

Nothing in the world could make me wake up that early… -Madeline DeVeney
