Name: Terra Garay
Job Position: Staff Associate (CCFL and CJC)
Where do you hail from:
I was born and raised right here in Lincoln. During my undergrad studies, I spent a summer living and studying abroad in Soria, a small city located in northern-central Spain. After my program, I travelled for two weeks visiting Ireland, England, France and the Netherlands.
What is it they say you do:
I am a Staff Associate and my position is split between the CCFL and the Children’s Justice Clinic.
What is your passion/what you are drawn to/what motivates you/where do you hope to be in five years:
During my undergraduate studies, I had the privilege of working with The Friendship Home and Lincoln Literacy. Through these incredible organizations, I found a passion working with sexual assault survivors, domestic abuse survivors, immigrants, and refugees. I am motivated by my personal experiences with these groups and the victories they were able to achieve with assistance from the network of programs in Lincoln. In the next five years, I hope to still be involved with programs and services that provide essential assistance and enhance our community and those in it.
Family life/hobbies /community involvement:
My life consists of myself, my partner, our cat, and our dog. My newest hobby is dog training and dog obedience competitions. In my free time, I also enjoy camping, music, reading and improving my Spanish fluency.
The quotation I live my life by is......
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Dr. Seuss
