The Buros Center for Testing held a very successful conference March 28-29, 2013 entitled: Big Issues in Testing: Improving Admissions and Learning in Higher Education. The conference included speakers from Big 10 Conference universities focused on research and insights regarding the current and future state of admissions and learning assessment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The conference was very well attended and stimulated exciting conversations about the extent to which contexts influence assessment, implications for special and minority populations, and lessons higher education can learn from K-12 assessment for accountability. UNL hosted an impressive array of speakers and a diverse group of conferees. It was a well organized, intellectually provocative meeting.
