Audiology Students Receive Grants

Macy Schott, a doctoral student working toward the AuD degree in Audiology in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders, was awarded a Student Investigator Grant in the Research Grants in Hearing & Balance program from the American Academy of Audiology. Macy will be collaborating with UNL Extension to evaluate a hearing conservation program designed for 4-H youth. Sherri Jones serves as Macy’s mentor.

Choonheong Lee, a PhD student in audiology, has received the Vestibular Grant for Student Investigators in the Research Grants in Hearing & Balance program from the American Academy of Audiology. Choongheon will be investigating the effects of meclizine and diazepam on mammalian vestibular function. Tim Jones is his faculty mentor.
