Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln’s Annual Streets Alive! Festival is in need of volunteers just south of the State Capitol on Sunday, September 14 from 1-5 p.m. Streets Alive! is an outdoor event for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities that promotes physical activity and healthy eating. This year’s event will host nearly 100 exhibitors along a 2 mile route, 4 entertainment sites, and new this year, 1 fitness stage that will allow participants to try 8 different fitness classes throughout the afternoon. Back again this year is the popular VegFest farmers market by Community CROPS and new for this year, we are partnering with the Everett Neighborhood Festival. You can find out more information about Streets Alive! on their website at http://www.healthylincoln.org/streetsalive.
With all this activity and an estimated 4000-5000 participants, we rely heavily on our volunteers to make the event a success! Please sign up at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4fada92babf58-streets/. Volunteers from a marketing club/class that would be interested in conducting a brief intercept survey with participants to get their feedback on the event are especially needed.
