UNL's Combined Campaign helps community

It’s November and the 2019-2020 UNL Combined Campaign is open and ready for your consideration. Help support nonprofit health and human services agencies in the Lincoln area.

The Combined Campaign includes organizations under the United Way and Community Services Fund organizations. Once again, I am honored to have been appointed the College of Engineering’s representative for this campaign.

This year UNL’s theme is Invest in Lincoln, Improve Lives: 150 Years of Giving Back. Countless agencies provide life-sustaining support to people in need in our community.

Here are a few examples of how your support can benefit others:

Your $7 donation given to the United Way Impact Fund...

  • Provides one week of literacy tutoring and mentoring for one student.

  • Supplies a bus pass for a resident to get to work, doctor appointments, and/or school.

  • Gives a person newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis crucial information and support resources to help them cope with the diagnosis.

Your $25 donation given through Community Services Fund...

  • Supports afterschool programs that nurture vulnerable kids during some of the highest risk times of the day, which teaching hands-on STEM skills and career development through Nebraska Children and Families Foundation.

  • Helps pay for nails needed to build a house through Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln.

  • Supports Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln’s FREE city-wide annual one-day event, Streets Alive! Which is an interactive, outreach festival that improves access to health, wellness, and fitness education and resources in neighborhoods that need it most.
