A five-year NSF Early Career Development Program grant is supporting Jongwan Eun’s research to study how frozen soil’s capacity to absorb water can be affected by snowfall, rapidly changing temperatures and rainfall, all of which contributed to the disastrous 2019 eastern Nebraska floods.
