Accessibility focus of Friday’s Inclusive Excellence Lunch & Learn

Dear Colleagues,

Our next Inclusive Excellence Lunch session will be held Friday, Oct. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. The session is titled: “A is for Accessibility” and will be offered by the UNL Institutional Equity and Compliance.

Would you like to increase your competence in interacting with and providing services for colleagues, students, visitors to campus, and other individuals with disabilities? This interactive session will provide you with an understanding of basic disability etiquette, insight into inclusive language use, and strategies for appropriately interacting with individuals who have observable and/or hidden disabilities. Information about accommodation processes through Faculty/Staff Disability Services will also be provided.

The session will be conducted as a hybrid event, connecting City Campus and Scott Campus, as well as being accessible via Zoom. Please take note that we have a new location on City Campus (Nebraska Hall 404) to accommodate more attendees.

If you missed last week’s deadline to reserve a boxed lunch, bring your own lunch and join us, or connect through Zoom (link below).

Date, time: Friday, Oct. 27, noon-1 p.m.
In-person locations: NH 404 & PKI 100A

Look forward to seeing many of you on Oct. 27.

Thanks,
