Nebraska Engineering students to participate Thursday in Student Research Slam

Three Nebraska Engineering students will compete in the Student Research Slam on Thursday, March 28 at the Wick Alumni Center.
Three Nebraska Engineering students will compete in the Student Research Slam on Thursday, March 28 at the Wick Alumni Center.

Three engineering students will be among six contestants in the Student Research Days Slam from noon-1 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at the Wick Alumni Center.

The students and the title of their presentations are:

  • Anika Azme, graduate student, environmental engineering: “Forever Chemicals vs. Light-Activated Materials”
  • Alisha Bevins, graduate student, computer science, “Magical Motions: The Power of Non-Verbal Communication in Robotics”
  • Alyssa Grube, graduate student, chemical engineering: “I Taught Myself to Knit When I Was 11”

Student Research Days Slam is a campus-wide contest where graduate and undergraduate students from all disciplines are challenged to communicate their work in short, dynamic, engaging presentations, with a winner decided by the audience.
