The grand opening of the Nebraska Engineering Robotics Lab in the lower level of Scott Engineering Center will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, March 27 in Scott Engineering Center, Room C014.
This space in the northeast corner of the basement has been converted from the previous mechanical room (replaced by the mechanical tower that now sits next to the SEC parking lot) into a beautiful space for testing mobile robots. This represents a culmination of the activities of the Heartland Robotics Cluster and the College of Engineering and is a commitment to the development and growth of a robust robotics workforce for the state of Nebraska. The facility is a shared space and available for all college researchers to schedule time for use. The facility includes large open spaces for testing mobile robots and cable robots, a Vicon vision system, a small electronics shop, and an office and conference room.
During the two-hour open house, guests can drop in to hear updates on robotics research and the robotics engineering B.S. degree program, along with live robot demonstrations.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
