The edible vehicle competition is one component of E-Day.
The edible vehicle competition is one component of E-Day.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, students will once again be racing and eating edible cars on E-Day, the annual engineering celebration of the end of the semester, and Professors Nicole Iverson and Roger Hoy, organizers of the event, are seeking judges for the competition.

The celebration will run from 2-3:30 p.m. that day in the Great Plains Room at the Nebraska East Union. It will include students in the BSEN/AGEN 100 class presenting the edible cars they have designed and then racing and eating the cars, students in BSEN/AGEN 951 presenting their projects, and biological systems and agricultural engineering companies taking part in a mini career fair. Many alumni are expected to attend the career fair as owners or representatives of their companies.

Iverson is seeking professors and staff members to assist with judging the posters and cars created by the class. Volunteers are needed for about 30 minutes, from approximately 2 to 2:30 p.m., to judge the attractiveness of posters and their ability to communicate design concepts. Please email Iverson@unl.edu to sign up to volunteer to be a judge.

Everyone is welcome to attend E-Day.
