Meet Computer Science and Engineering assistant professor of practice, Shruti Daggumati!
Daggumati is a three-time CSE graduate, having received her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from the department. She has also worked for Verizon as a research systems engineer. She’s currently teaching Database Systems, and co-teaching Software Engineering 260 and Senior Design. Her areas of research and expertise include data visualization, database systems, discrete math, and computational linguistics.
Daggumati is from Lincoln, and has lived in the city since she was 8.
“Lincoln has always been home to me,” she said. “Trust me when I say that there is no place like it. If you haven't already I would recommend getting lost in the plethora of bike trails, you'll be surprised where you end up.”
Though she is now teaching at CSE rather than studying, she said her favorite thing about the department remains the same.
“What I have always loved about working in CSE are the students. You're continuously learning along with them.”
