As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, ITS is hosting two workshops with CISCO. CSE students are welcome to attend.

CISCO Cyber Defense Clinic. Secure It. Protect It.
Wednesday, October 30
8 a.m. to noon
Hawks Hall 111
Join Cheryl O’Dell, incident response manager for Information Technology Services, in completing labs to help learn about cyber defense. There will be a CISCO subject matter expert on location on each campus. This clinic is open to anyone of any technical level. Come to all or part of it. A laptop is required. Register at training.unl.edu.

CISCO Threat Hunting Workshop
Wednesday, October 30
1-5 p.m.
Hawks Hall 111
This free event is being offered by CISCO. In this unique lab, attendees will have hands-on interaction with the latest tools to hone their cybersecurity expertise. During the labs, attendees will get to work with an advanced set of automated, integrated cybersecurity technologies they have likely never been exposed to, or at least not on this scale. They will also see popular hacking tools in action and gain experience defending critical data. At the end of this event, the attendees will be familiar with the latest defense techniques and technologies to fight various cyber threats. These labs build upon one another, so the full 4 hour time commitment is necessary. Prior experience working with CISCO devices is helpful, but not necessary. Open to Computer Science or Cybersecurity students or faculty, and ITS staff with advanced technical knowledge. A laptop is required. Register at training.unl.edu.
