The Council For Resilience Education (CRE) is recruiting new members to create diverse multimedia products on the topic of Ecological Resilience.
Ecological Resilience is a framework for conceptualizing an ecosystem's or social system's ability to withstand disturbances and the changes these systems undergo. However, no background in this topic is necessary to join CRE! The group is a a science communication group that creates a podcast, online modules, in-class games and lesson plans, and other products in order to teach a useful and growing field of study that has implications for conservation, urban planning, law and policy, natural resource management, and far more. Its target audience is currently for use in undergraduate classrooms, but we hope to expand this to land managers and other professionals as well as K-12 classrooms.
The group is seeking students with backgrounds in communications, graphic design, audio and video production, and of course the sciences. Come see what CRE is about and have your work published online for the benefit of your fellow UNL students!
