The National Science Foundation has awarded Computer Science and Engineering assistant professor ThanhVu Nguyen a Research Initiation Initiative Grant (NSF CRII).
The NSF CRII Award, often referred to as a “mini CAREER Award,” is a prestigious, highly competitive grant that is awarded to young assistant professors at the beginning of their academic careers.
Nguyen’s earned the award for his research project, “Analyzing the Linux’s KBuild Makefile,” which aims to develop algorithms and tools to analyze the complex Linux build process to understand how configuration options affect the building of individual source files.
Nguyen is a member of the ESQuaReD software engineering lab and leads the UnSAT (University of Nebraska Software Analysis and Testing) research group. His current research focuses on program analysis, verification, synthesis, and repair.
Nguyen also has multiple RA positions available for this project for students with good Linux/BSD/Unix background.
