Nebraska Public Media is hiring a software developer.

Description of Work:
Responsible for all phases of software lifecycle for media and content management systems as well as web and mobile (especially iOS) applications. Researches users’ needs as well as potential system enhancements. Performs design and analysis on new and existing software systems. Works as part of a team to develop elegant application-based solutions to solve software/technical problems. Maintains and upgrades legacy code and develops new applications as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in computer science or related field plus two years of software and/or web application development experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Familiarity with Swift programming language. Familiarity with Python or similar language. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Knowledge of Agile software methodologies. Knowledge of command line usage of a Linux based system.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Developed and published app for iPhone and iPad. Git and Docker usage. Ubuntu server administration. Knowledge of object-oriented development concepts and an understanding of website CMS platforms. Mobile development, basic networking, operating systems, virtualization, and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with game engines and their application.
