Students who are looking to expand their cultural horizons should consider taking MODL 298: Introduction to Japanese Film.

The course offers a survey of Japanese cinematographic arts, beginning with Ozu Yasujiro's silent movie and concluding the semester with cutting-edge anime. It will cover works from the 1940's to the present, which will allow for a study into the socio-cultural conditions that have shaped Japan and an exploration of the country's history.

There are no prerequisites required and the class will be held on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. - 4:50 p.m.
