Prepare for finals

Finals can be a stressful time. To help take some of the pressure off, the Computer Science and Engineering Department has put together a list of dead week activities and study resources and tips to help its students smoothly navigate their way through the exams.

Study spaces:

Love Library has 8 study rooms available for groups of 2 to 8 people. Keys may be checked out at the Circulation Desk. The occupancy period is two hours.

The Multicultural Center has many quiet study spaces and a computer room available. Study rooms are available starting Sunday, April 21 until Wednesday, May 1. Food and beverage will be provided from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m. There will also be a game room with Wii, karaoke, and Zumba until 9 p.m. every day.

Every year UNL Career Services has study rooms available in Nebraska Union. Contact them for more information.

Stress-Free Zone:

There will be free snacks, giveaways, massages, dogs to pet and fun activities. The event is sponsored by the University Health Center, Campus Recreation, and Lincoln Pet Partners. The event will be held on Nebraska East Union April 23 and Nebraska Union April 24 and 25, all days from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Resources:

If you have specific course questions, please contact your TA's, SRC tutors, professors, or residence hall tutors.

More general resources include the ACM online library, Services for Students with Disabilities, and the Office of Academic Support & Intercultural Services.

Tips:

Stay motivated and alert by getting sleep, avoiding excessive caffeine use, planning your days ahead, eating healthy foods, and rewarding yourself for achieving goals.

Also, do not cram right before the exams, avoid anxiety, and make sure to move around during your study sessions.
