CSE Systems Administration is now hiring student workers.

The Systems Administration group for the Computer Science & Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is looking for highly motivated, customer orientated undergraduate student workers to provide Tier 1 support to students, staff, and faculty. This position would require at least 10 to 15 hours per week and would be paid a starting hourly wage of $9.50. The employee will have responsibilities in both Avery Hall and the Schorr Center (South Stadium office building). Work schedule is flexible, depending on classes and other obligations. Applicants must be currently enrolled UNL students taking at least one (1) credit hour.

Responsibilities would include:
- Assist students with common issues (email, printing, etc...)
- Troubleshooting account/login problems
- Troubleshooting Windows, Linux and Mac computers
- Keeping computer labs in working order
- Imaging lab computers (using Norton Ghost)
- Replacing hardware, when necessary
- Various tasks, such as: writing scripts/small programs, researching products to purchase, etc...

Recommended skills would include:
- Good communication and a pro-active approach to maintenance are essential
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software components, including printers, networks, conference room and classroom multimedia equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Mac OS X operating systems
- Basic understanding of computer networking
- Experience with PHP, Perl and/or shell scripting is a plus
