Pass/No Pass deadline this Friday

The deadline to change a class to pass/no pass is the end of the day Friday, March 6. If you are an honor student you may change a class to pass/no pass, but it will then not count as honors and for it to count at all you need a B or higher.

There are positive and negative aspects to making this change.
Positive: a poor grade has no impact on your GPA and you can still withdraw from the course by 12th week. The course also still counts for graduation and your semester load.
Negative: A good grade has no impact on your GPA and a C- becomes N and does not count for anything.

To change a class to Pass/No Pass go on MyRed to this semester's enrollments and edit the entry for the desired course.

Here are some alternatives to changing a class to Pass/No Pass:
W (withdraw): no affect on GPA, you simply lost your tuition, WARNING: If you are an F1 Visa student, DO NOT DROP BELOW 12 HOURS.
D/F Removal: retake course with grade below C and the new grade replaces the old for all GPA calculations (transcript still shows but with "course retaken")
Academic Bankruptcy: after a couple good semesters, bankrupt one or two entire semesters (good and bad grades all go away)

Important info for Computer Science majors:
24 hours max overall
6 hours max in CSCE courses with permission (go ahead and change, but find me for a signature if you do indeed pass).
Deans List requires 12+ hours of graded work

Important info for Computer Science Minors:
3 hours allowed in the Math minor or major (but not from the calculus sequence!)
Important info for Computer Engineering majors:
12 hours of ACE 5,6,7,9 is all that counts! You might change to pass/no pass anyway in order to protect the GPA, but it will not count for the major.

Scholarships
Major scholarships require 24 hours progress each year with minimum of 9 graded hours per semester.
