The Graduate Recruitment Committee of the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln hosted an Information Day for prospective graduate students on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Several current undergraduate students from UNL accepted the invitation to attend, and were joined by students from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.
The event was held in Avery Hall and in the Schorr Center on UNL's City Campus. The day began with faculty research presentations, which were followed by lunch, a panel discussion where prospective students asked faculty and current students questions, and concluded with guided tours of the research labs in the Schorr Center.
The Graduate Recruitment Committee is planning several “pizza sessions" later in the semester for those interested in applying who were unable to attend the October 22nd event. The aim of these sessions will be to enable applicants to learn more about the CSE graduate program. Future events will be advertised in upcoming issues of Bits & Bytes.
