The Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management's Design Studio is off to a great start this year! We have 17 development projects from 15 industry partners. These projects are a key differentiator in capstone education at the Raikes School, providing a real-world, practical application of technical acumen, while also developing leadership, project management, analytical, and communication skills.
Design Studio projects provide students the ability to gain project management and agile development experience in the creation of solutions. This year’s projects provide groundbreaking opportunities in key areas like machine learning, natural language generation, hardware prototyping, analytics, and other relevant technologies.

New this year is a sophomore internship program, giving sophomores the opportunity to join the junior/senior led teams in the fall semester. Previously, internships were only offered to freshmen in the spring semester. Adding fall interns provides visibility into the early parts of project initiation and onboarding activities. Five sophomores accepted offers from select project teams, bringing the size of Design Studio to 94 students, students who are making a huge impact here in Nebraska.
We cannot wait to share the results of the work that students complete this year on these exciting Design Studio projects. Please save the date for our annual Design Studio Showcase on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Innovation Campus.
We hope you can join us!
