To help kick-off the holiday season and in coordination with Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, the College of Engineering is sponsoring a food/supplies drive Nov. 12-16 to benefit the Huskers Pantry in Lincoln and the Maverick Food Pantry in Omaha.
Food insecurity is an issue on college campuses, and UNL and UNO are no exceptions. According to the UNL pantry website, “Nearly 1 in 3 students on our campus worries about not having enough food…”.
As a college, we can make a difference for our students to help combat hunger and stress. Please consider generously donating some of the following items during our drive (Nov. 12-16). Both pantries also accept monetary donations (see their websites).
Bins will be placed in the Dean’s Suite on City Campus (Othmer) and Scott Campus (PKI), as well as by the Engineering Library in Nebraska Hall. We can also pick up from department offices if donations are dropped off in these areas.
The following are items needed in both locations; the Maverick Pantry especially encourages organic options.

-Canned vegetables (corn, diced tomatoes, green beans)
