COE seeking instructors, mentors for AMSI

The College of Engineering is hosting an Advanced Manufacturing Summer Institute (AMSI), and needs one or two students who can help with teaching two classes (2 to 4 sessions per class) or serving as a program mentor for 8 weeks.

Wage: 
Undergraduate students: $14 per hour
Graduate students: Contact Iman Salafian
 
Positions:
1. Lecturer for the Introduction to Mechatronics of Drones class (one person)

Start date: Immediately
Contract Duration: 2-8 weeks based on your availability

The lecturer will teach the basics of drone operation, including but not limited to:
· Describing the electromechanical parts in a quadcopter
·  Describing the basics of microcontrollers and drone control modules
·  Teaching the current drone programming and controller software which is offered by AMSI

Other responsibilities will be explained in the interview.

Requirements: Current graduate/undergraduate student of UNL or graduates with valid work authorization. Outstanding ability to offer the above-mentioned topics.
 
2. Instructor for the Drone Flight-Training Class (one person)

Start date: July 22 
Duration: 2 weeks
 
Responsibilities:
·  Training our student the basic rules of flight using a joystick controller in order to fly a small drone provided by AMSI
·  Helping students during the test and troubleshoot of drones manufactured by our students

Other responsibilities will be explained in the interview.

Requirements: Holding a valid drone pilot certificate. Current graduate/undergraduate student of UNL or graduates with valid work authorization.
