Computer Science and Engineering Ph.D. student Deepak Nadig was recently selected as a recipient of a 2019-20 Milton Mohr Graduate Fellowship.

Nadig will be awarded the fellowship at the College of Engineering Graduate Student Recognition Event on Wednesday, May 1.

Fellow CSE Ph.D. student Baofeng Zhou was also selected as Milton Mohr Fellowship recipient this year. Read the article about his fellowship award here.

The Milton E. Mohr Awards Program recognizes outstanding students in the sciences of biotechnology and engineering based on their academic performance and potential for accomplishments in their specific field. The scholarships and fellowships are made possible through an endowment to the University Foundation.

Nadig is currently working on Software Defined Networks (SDN) at the Networks Research Group, under the supervision of professor Byrav Ramamurthy. His research interests include network innovation, security, transport issues, and applicability to large-scale network architectures. He is currently working as a research assistant on the NSF-funded project, “Innovating Network Cyberinfrastructure through Openflow and Content Centric Networking in Nebraska.”

Nadig was nominated for the award by Ramamurthy and Holland Computing Center director David Swanson. He has co-authored multiple papers with Ramamurthy and Swanson, including one that earned an IEEE ANTS Best Paper Award. Nadig thanks both of them for their nomination and support over the last few years.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award and to join past recipients who I have admired and respected,” Nadig said. “I am excited to continue working on software-defined networks to manage and secure campus networks better.”

Congratulations to Deepak Nadig on this great achievement!
