340 students from 41 Nebraska high schools participated in the 31st annual Nebraska Math Day on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, virtually on Zoom. Two classes of 68 teams participated in five rounds.

Math Day 2.0 was the first-ever online bowl tournament and is designed to spark high school students’ interest in math, to encourage them to pursue a career in mathematics or the mathematical sciences, and to recognize outstanding mathematical ability.

This all-day event consisted of the PROBE II individual competition and the fast-paced Math Bowl 2.0 Swiss-system team competition. Recruiters from UNL departments and units hosted Zoom rooms throughout the day to interact with the bowl team participants. All participants were also provided with the opportunity to solve an escape room.
