American Educational Research Association (AERA) Research Engagement and Development with Youth (READY) Call for Applications
Submission Deadline: December 5, 2024
The American Educational Research Association (AERA) invites applications for the Research Engagement and Development with Youth (READY) Program. This program will bring teams of talented high school students, who are engaged in education research, to the 2025 AERA Annual Meeting in Denver to present their work, network with peers, and cultivate their interest in the field.
The READY Program will be held April 23-25, during the 2025 AERA Annual Meeting. Participating youth researchers will:
- Present their work in featured poster session
- Participate in a mini-workshop to discuss and receive feedback on their ongoing research and learn about potential opportunities for continuing to pursue research engagement
- Meet with early career and senior researchers
- Attend a select set of Annual Meeting sessions and events
This unique opportunity for high school youth is designed to inspire, shape, and expand the next generation of education researchers.
Up to five teams of youth researchers will be competitively selected to participate in AERA READY. The program is designed for high school students who are currently working with one or more education researchers on the researcher’s study or are being advised by an education researcher.
Applications will be advanced by education researchers. High school teachers or those at other organizations who are guiding high school students in research are also eligible to apply.
Teams selected to participate will receive partial funding to attend the 2025 AERA Annual Meeting in Denver. Eligible READY applications must include a minimum of four and a maximum of six youth researchers. The application deadline is Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024.
