
After a 400-mile journey across Nebraska, Scottsbluff High School’s math team rolled into the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ready to crunch numbers and chase bragging rights at Math Day.
Under the guidance of their teacher, Shelby Aaberg—a Husker alumnus and former Nebraska Teacher of the Year—the students plunged into a whirlwind of equations, quick-fire problem-solving and friendly rivalry, capping their long trip with a full day of math-powered excitement. Scottsbluff took first place in both the Class A and Class B Math Bowl Competitions. Lincoln East High School also took second place in both classes. Brownell Talbot placed first and Mount Michael placed second in the Class C competition. Southern Valley took first place in Class D, with Elm Creek placing as runner up.
