Join the Mathematical Association of America from 2:30-3:30 CST on Dec. 9 on Zoom for an informational webinar providing an overview of the new MAA-Neff Middle School Mathematics Professional Development Initiative, a funding opportunity through the MAA supported by the John and Mary Neff Foundation. This session will guide potential applicants through the request for proposals, highlighting program goals, eligibility, and key elements of a strong application. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the application process and upcoming deadlines.

About the MAA-Neff Middle School Professional Development Initiative
Building on the success of last year’s MAA-Neff Middle School Partnerships Program, the Mathematical Association of America is launching a new, one-time grant initiative funded by The John and Mary Neff Foundation. This initiative continues MAA’s commitment to supporting the professional development of middle school mathematics teachers through funding scalable models of professional development that meaningfully leverage school partnerships and professional communities to strengthen middle school mathematics teaching and improve student engagement.

Amount: Up to $12,000 initial funding with eligibility for a two-year expansion up to $40,000
Purpose: Scalable professional development for middle school mathematics teachers
Eligibility: Faculty, K-12 schools/districts, and nonprofit organizations
Applications due: March 3, 2026
