NAG’s national, regional and local presenters are selected in efforts to provide innovative, research-driven, and creative professional learning experiences that can be transferred and replicated by conference attendees.

This year’s theme, “Growing Gifted Learners,” focuses on nurturing gifted and talented students’ mindsets in a global, social, and media-based world community.

Conference presentations motivate educators and community with ideas and classroom experiences to engage, challenge and motivate high ability learners.

Conference Strands
Social Emotional - Our workforce is changing drastically, students will now be required to navigate complex work environments in the global information age. Strands in this topic may include but are not limited to: flexibility, adaptability, initiative, self-direction, social and cross-cultural skills, productivity, accountability, leadership and responsibility, asynchronous development, depression, family dynamics, leadership, perfectionism, and social skills.

Gifted Programming - Presentations in this area will highlight different aspects of programming for gifted students including minority students and students from poverty. Topics may include but are not limited to: administrative issues, differentiated curriculum, compacting, tiering, best practices in gifted education, cluster grouping, independent study units, enrichment options, special programs, mentorships, academic contests, identification processes and a tool kit for educators starting and renewing gifted programs.

Technology Driven Creativity - Presentations should promote the use of technology to enable creativity and innovation in the classroom. Topics may include but are not limited to: critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration skills, information literacy, media literacy, information and communication technologies, student outcomes and support systems in the 21st century.
