The Center for Transformative Teaching will host a three-session workshop on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 8 that introduces participants to course-level learning analytics. Each 60-minute in-person session will be followed by an optional 30-minute, hands-on session where participants can work with data from their own courses with the assistance of the facilitators.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to do the following:
- Recognize and describe the affordances and limitations of course-level learning analytics.
- Make use of readily available learning analytics data via Canvas New Analytics and UNL’s Course Insights within Canvas to inform instructional strategies and interventions throughout the semester.
- Generate course-level teaching and learning questions that learning analytics data can inform.
- Design courses and instruction that generate good data.
Facilitators are Sydney Brown, assistant director of the CTT; Chad Brassil, faculty director of undergraduate analytics; and Casey Nugent, director of student information systems and application development.
Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops and their lunches. Dessert will be provided. Registration is limited to 12 participants.
