Upcoming opportunities offered through the Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT):
- The CTT is delighted to announce a new round of teaching grants. Applications are due February 1, 2023. Grant recipients are expected to develop their projects during the summer and possibly fall, and projects should be implemented for the Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 semesters: https://teaching.unl.edu/opportunities/teaching-grants/
- The CTT Teaching will host the workshop session Developing a Teaching Portfolio on Monday, December 19, 2022, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. The workshop will give participants an opportunity to ask questions of colleagues and facilitators, as well as give and receive feedback: https://teaching.unl.edu/resources/developing-teaching-portfolio/
- The CTT’s professional development program, the Reflective Practitioner Program (RPP) continues to recruit. We urge you to find out more and sign up here: https://teaching.unl.edu/rpp/
- The CTT will be hosting four learning communities in spring 2023. These opportunities are for educators across the institution to explore new topics related to their teaching practice. They include:
- Validation Theory, facilitated by Deepak Keshwani, will examine the opportunities that exist for instructors to validate their students’ varied experiences in the higher ed landscape. This validation is key to fostering a sense of belonging with aims to improve student success and retention.
- The Value of Play in Higher Education, facilitated by Julia Remsik Larsen, will explore the importance of fun in our educational experiences. If you’re trying to reignite your (or your students’) inherent curiosity and explorative spirits, there may be value in leading with play.
- Academic Ableism, facilitated by Grace Troupe & Abby Mitchell, and co-hosted with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion.
- Creating Inclusive Online Communities, also co-hosted by ODI and facilitated by Amy Ort & Zach Manley.
