Through this new initiative, the NSF Directorate for Education and Human Resources and the newly established Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships seek to support experiential learning opportunities for individuals from diverse professional and educational backgrounds that will increase access to, and interest in, career pathways in emerging technology fields (e.g., advanced manufacturing, advanced wireless, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, quantum information science, semiconductors, and microelectronics).

NSF's Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) invites grantees with active CISE awards to submit requests for REU Supplements, following the guidelines in the REU Sites and Supplements solicitation. Spencer Foundation Research Grants on Education (small) Deadline: April 5, 2023
This program supports education research projects that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived, with budgets up to $50,000 for projects ranging from one to five years. Applications accepted three times per year.

IUSE: Professional Formation of Engineers: Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (IUSE/PFE:RED) Deadline: May 10, 2023
The Directorates for Engineering (ENG) and STEM Education (EDU) are funding projects as part of the RED program, in alignment with the Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) framework and Professional Formation of Engineers (PFE) initiative. These projects are designing revolutionary new approaches to engineering education, ranging from changing the canon of engineering to fundamentally altering the way courses are structured to creating new departmental structures and educational collaborations with industry. A common thread across these projects is a focus on organizational and cultural change within the departments, involving students, faculty, staff, and industry in rethinking what it means to provide an engineering program.

Spencer Foundation Racial Equity Grants Letter of Intent Deadline: Mid-May, 2023
This program supports education research projects that will contribute to understanding and ameliorating racial inequality in education. We are interested in funding studies that aim to understand and disrupt the reproduction and deepening of inequality in education, and which seek to (re)imagine and make new forms of equitable education.

Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) Deadline: July 19, 2023 (Levels 2 & 3)
The Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Directorate for STEM Education is a core National Science Foundation STEM education program that seeks to promote novel, creative, and transformative approaches to generating and using new knowledge about STEM teaching and learning to improve STEM education for undergraduate students.
