Laura Trouille’s recent presentations on campus detailing the citizen science offerings of the Zooniverse Project (https://www.zooniverse.org/) have resonated with certain administrators on campus. The Center for Science, Mathematics, & Computer Education will be organizing a small committee to meet and brainstorm regarding “how might a large group of UNL students be exposed to citizen science”. The consensus recommendations of this committee would be communicated to the Executive Vice Chancellor.
If you are interested in serving on this committee, please let Kevin Lee (klee6@unl.edu) know. Please include a brief paragraph regarding your experience with citizen science. He will collect a list of those willing to serve and forward it on to Jim Lewis who will appoint the committee. The committee will need to broadly represent science disciplines.
