The Durham School and HDR welcomed participants interested in improving the future of health promoting environments to the 2016 IHE Fall Summit. The event, held at the Scott Conference Center, was filled with great thought provoking conversation and opened doors to new collaborations.
This is the second IHE event, the first was held in the Spring of 2016, when the founding team came together to develop the common goals and interest areas. After a recap of the Spring meeting, participants moved into five small groups structured around the interest areas formed at the Spring event. Groups discussed important topics such as: big data and predictive analytics, and the sensory experience, environmental impact on health, among others. This collaboration of academia, healthcare and industry professionals are The Initiative for Health Environments and their work aims to bridge the gap to improve the future of health promoting environments.
