Philosophy Offers Ethics and Law Option

Philosophy's New Ethics and Law Option
Philosophy's New Ethics and Law Option

The option includes a course in philosophy of law, two courses in applied ethical and legal issues, and two courses in the foundations of ethics and law. Through these courses, students will understand key legal concepts, develop their skills in applying principles to particular cases, and learn about the foundations of ethics and law through classic and contemporary authors. A course in logic develops skills in logical reasoning, which is central to the study of law and to the LSAT. With the Ethics and Law Option selected, the major totals 30 credit hours and normally satisfies CAS CDR Diversity, CAS CDR Humanities, ACE 3, and three of ACE 5, 8, 9, and 10.

Sample Courses Include:
PHIL 230-Philosophy of Law
PHIL 221-Political Philosophy
PHIL 208-Business Ethics
PHIL 213-Medical Ethics
