Key Information for Attending Career Fairs:

Who Can Attend: All current UNL students are welcome to attend the career and internship fairs.
Registration: You can register on Handshake, but it’s **not required** to attend.
Check-In: Use your NUID or @huskers.unl.edu email to check into the fair. A printed name tag with your major will be provided.
Drop-off zone: Located near check-in for your coat or backpack.
Headshot Station Available: Take a professional photo before or after entering the fair to update your LinkedIn or Handshake profile.
Exit Station: Exit out the back of the fair to complete the student survey and walk towards the check-in to retrieve your items from the Drop-off zone.
Tips: Ensure your Handshake profile is up to date to avoid any errors on your name tag.

Help Desk Services: You can visit the Help Desk before the fair to:
Print copies of your resumes.
Practice your introduction
Help identify relevant employers
Fair map assistance
Questions to ask employers
Outfit checks
Additional Tips for a Successful Career Fair Experience:

Meet with your career coach prior to the career fair.
Prepare Your Resume: Make sure it's up-to-date and tailored to the positions you're interested in.
Elevator Pitch: Have a brief (30-60 seconds) introduction ready about yourself—who you are, what you're studying, and what you're looking for.
Research Employers: If possible, look at the list of employers attending ahead of time and note which companies you're most interested in speaking with. See the Career Focus Areas for Upcoming Career Fairs page
Follow Up: After the fair, follow up with recruiters by sending a brief thank-you email and connecting on LinkedIn.
