The Food Access Issue Team participated in a two day face to face meeting to discuss next steps in moving forward. On day one, the team listened to webinars from the Lincoln Food Policy Council, The Fair Food Network, and The Midwest Dairy Council.
On day two, team members gave lightning round presentations about their unique work around food access and equity in their accountability regions. Later in the afternoon, experienced facilitator Kayla Schnuelle lead the team through a discussion around how the team is organized, its programs, and what pieces are missing. By the end of the day, the team gathered their support around two ideas to move forward: 1. Reworking a communications plan, and 2. Local/Statewide food distribution locator.
