From preparing students to be global leaders to strengthening international partnerships and impacting the world through international research and creative activity, the 2019 Global Nebraska Annual Report captures the rich of the university as a transformative, world-leading university.
Developed and published by Nebraska’s Office of Global Strategies, the annual report highlights the work of the Global Nebraska units – including the Office of Global Strategies, Education Abroad Office, International Student and Scholar Office and Programs in English as Second Language – as well as other faculty, staff and academic units engaged in international education and activity.
“We recognize COVID-19 has changed higher education and some of our work will look different,” said Josh Davis, associate vice chancellor for global affairs. “This report shows not only that Nebraska has a rich history of global engagement and education, but that we have many opportunities to continue this important work that is closely tied to the N2025 Strategic Plan.”
Highlights from the report include:
- New programming initiatives from the International Student and Scholar Office that connect international and domestic students
- Nebraska’s recognition as a Greatest Growth Institution for the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for study abroad
- The university’s partnership with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and engaging alumni overseas
- The continued and expanded engagement of Nebraska with its partnerships and student programs in Africa
- The impact of customized English language and culture programs offered by Programs in English as a Second Language
The Office of Global Strategies is grateful for the support of the many offices, academic units and Nebraska personnel who assisted in compiling the report and who continue to advocate for advancing international engagement.
