Sanglard, Tufuor, and Bharwani place top three after delivering science slams

Several postdocs delivered fast-paced, engaging presentations on their research and creative activity on November 4 in front of an audience who later chose the top three winners for the competition.

Dr. Christine Booth from the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture kicked off the competition with a keynote presentation on lessons in science communication skill development before Dr. L.J. McElravy, Associate Dean for Professional Development, emceed the 2021 Postdoc Science Slam.

The top three postdoc presenters earning $650 each were:

  1. Dr. Leticia Sanglard, Animal Science
  2. Dr. Ernest Tufuor, Civil & Environmental Engineering
  3. Dr. Sara Bharwani, Special Education & Communication Disorders
Dr. Xuehuan Feng from Food Science and Technology, Dr. Tefjol Pllaha from Mathematics, and Dr. Janak Dhakal from Food Science and Technology each won $100 for taking on the challenge in devlivering 5-minute science slams.
