From January 5-12, 2022, the Office of Graduate Studies will hold a Teaching Assistant (TA) Training Program for graduate students who would like training on teaching.
This program is open to all graduate students, whether you are a TA or not, but will be limited to 25 students. This program with feature classes on teaching skills focusing on topics such as giving effective presentations and lesson planning, teaching methods and active learning, classroom management, assessment and grading, and how students learn. Students will also have the opportunity to teach three practice lessons and get feedback on those.
This program will be held in-person from 10:30 a.m. to about 3:30 pm each day (with a lunch break) and interested students need to be available to attend the in-person sessions during that time.
