Student Research Days 2022 will take place in-person on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 in the Nebraska Union. The event will showcase graduate and undergraduate student research and creative accomplishments on campus.
Graduate Studies will host Graduate Poster Sessions and Creative Exhibitions from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day according to the format below:
- Monday: Engineering and the Physical Sciences
- Tuesday: Social Sciences, Business, Education, Arts and Humanities and the Life Sciences
An awards competition will provide selected graduate students, whose research poster presentation or display is deemed outstanding by faculty judges, a $400 travel grant/presentation award which can be used for travel to conferences. All graduate students with appropriate research and/or creative activity experience are encouraged to participate in this competition.
Two students from each of the following areas will be selected for a travel award:
- Arts & Humanities (Art & Art History, Music, Theatre Arts & Film, Architecture, Communication Studies (Rhetoric & Public Culture), English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Journalism)
- Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics)
- Engineering (All departments in the College of Engineering)
- Business and Social Sciences (All departments in the College of Business Administration plus Anthropology, Communication Studies (Interpersonal, Family, & Health Communication), Community & Regional Planning, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design)
- Agricultural and Life Sciences (Biological Sciences, Nutrition & Health Sciences, and all departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources)
- Education (Education Psychology, Educational Administration, Child Youth & Family Studies, Special Education & Communication Disorders, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education)
Poster Judging
Poster judges for the undergraduate and graduate poster competitions are needed. The Undergraduate Poster Session and Creative Exhibitions will be held on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Graduate Poster Session and Creative Exhibitions will be held on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.). Faculty and postdocs may judge posters in either session; graduate students may only judge undergraduate posters. Those who are interested can complete the volunteer form online and expect details in a follow-up from organizers.
Poster judges will be responsible for evaluating 5-10 posters each using a rubric provided. The Office of Graduate Studies and Office of Undergraduate Research will handle all administrative aspects of the judging process.
