RESEARCH DAYS: Register to present at Student Research Days

Student Research Days 2023 will take place in-person on Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29 in the Nebraska Union. The event will showcase graduate and undergraduate student research and creative accomplishments on campus.

Student Research Days 2023 will take place in-person on Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29 in the Nebraska Union. The event will showcase graduate and undergraduate student research and creative accomplishments on campus.  Graduate Studies will host Graduate Poster Sessions and Creative Exhibitions from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day according to the format below:

  • Tuesday: Engineering and the Physical Sciences
  • Wednesday: Social Sciences, Business, Education, Arts and Humanities and the Life Sciences
While most student will present their work through research posters, there will be some space for displaying research or creative activities in other display formats and students in all fields are welcome to register to present their work.

An awards competition will provide selected graduate students, whose research poster presentation or display is deemed outstanding by faculty judges, a $400 travel grant/presentation award which can be used for travel to conferences. All graduate students with appropriate research and/or creative activity experience are encouraged to participate in this competition.  

Two students from each of the following areas will be selected for a travel/presentation award:

  1. Arts & Humanities (Art & Art History, Music, Theatre Arts & Film, Architecture, Communication Studies (Rhetoric & Public Culture), English, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Journalism)
  2. Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics)
  3. Engineering (All departments in the College of Engineering)
  4. Business and Social Sciences (All departments in the College of Business Administration plus Anthropology, Communication Studies (Interpersonal, Family, & Health Communication), Community & Regional Planning, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design)
  5. Agricultural and Life Sciences (Biological Sciences, Nutrition & Health Sciences, and all departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources)
  6. Education (Education Psychology, Educational Administration, Child Youth & Family Studies, Special Education & Communication Disorders, Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education)
Students must register to participate in the Graduate Poster Session and Creative Exhibition by March 3, 2023.
