Are you interested in exploring professorial opportunities at a liberal arts college? If so, the Emerging Scholars Program is for YOU!
The Big Ten Academic Alliance and Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) have teamed up to provide an opportunity for Ph.D. students to learn first-hand about teaching at a liberal arts college through the Mellon Undergraduate and Faculty Fellows Program for a Diverse Professoriate.
Through a one-to-two day campus visit, you will meet with academic leaders, faculty, and students to build relationships and an awareness about the nature of an academic career at an ACM college.
Successful applicants will be:
- Two to three years from completing their degree (i.e., pre-job search).
- Seeking a career in one of the following disciplines: Anthropology, Art/Art History, History, Music, Psychology, Political Science, Race/Ethnic studies, Romance Languages, Social/Criminal Justice, and Theater.
- An advocate for inclusive teaching and learning practices.
