This summer, the Writing Center is excited to offer three ways for graduate students to receive no-cost support with their writing projects: a Virtual Writing Retreat, Summer Writing Groups, and Summer Hours.

Writing Center Virtual Retreat, May 24-25: The Writing Center is offering a virtual writing retreat on May 24 and 25 for graduate students and faculty. In addition to dedicated writing time, this virtual retreat will also include wellness activities--like virtual yoga and mindfulness sessions--and Writing Consultants will be available for online consultations. While the retreat will run from 9am to 4pm each day, attendees need not participate in every scheduled activity or writing session. This retreat is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and CAS’s IDEA Committee, and it is offered free of charge. To register, please visit https://go.unl.edu/2023writingretreat.

Writing groups for graduate students and faculty: From June 5-July 28, Writing Center staff will host weekly meetings for graduate student and faculty writers who are interested in building community and accountability into their writing practice. Groups will meet for 75 minutes at the same time every week. Interested writers should complete this form no later than Friday, May 19: https://go.unl.edu/2023writinggroups .

Summer hours: This summer, the Writing Center will be offering one-with-one writing consultations from June 5-July 28. These consultations are available by appointment between 10am-3pm, M-Th. To register and schedule an appointment, writers can visit https://unl.mywconline.com.
