Mark your calendars for Voices of Impact: Leaders Shaping Modern Nebraska on Friday, February 20. Join a powerful conversation with local leaders in art, academia, social entrepreneurship, political activism and well-being.

Hosted in honor of Black History Month, this event is an interview-style panel spotlighting local leaders whose work is changing communities through creativity, scholarship, advocacy and care. This is not a lecture. It’s a conversation about leadership journeys, responsibility and the legacy being shaped today.

Meet the Panelists:

- Albert Maxey: a Hall of Fame athlete, 34-year Lincoln Police veteran and the officer who personally escorted Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during his visit to Lincoln. Albert Maxey is a living bridge between civil rights history and modern Nebraska leadership.

- Preston Love Jr.: A former Husker football player, national political strategist, Founder & Executive Director of Institute for Urban Development and the Nebraska Democratic Party’s 2020 candidate for U.S. Senate, Preston Love Jr. brings decades of experience at the intersection of civic power, economic equity and leadership in action.

- Dr. Jeannette Eileen Jones: A nationally recognized historian and Yale University Press author, Dr. Jeannette Jones examines race, empire and America’s global impact helping us understand the forces shaping today’s social and political realities.

- Letura Idigima: As Youth Engagement Director at The Bay and founder of Art Bus LNK, Letura Idigima transforms creativity into opportunity, redefining leadership through culture, innovation and youth empowerment.

- John Goldrich: As Assistant Director of Embedded Services at CAPS and a community human rights leader, John Goldrich works at the frontlines of student well-being, helping young leaders build resilience in complex times.
