The Office of Graduate Studies invites new and returning graduate students to kick off the Fall 2019 semester with a trio of welcome events this August 21-23.

An Eat and Greet for international students will take place on Wednesday, August 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Hawks Hall, and guests may come by any time to get acquainted with the Office of Graduate studies and enjoy refreshments and conversation in a casual atmosphere. This is a family-friendly event, and attendees are welcome to bring partners, spouses, and children.

Thursday’s Graduate Student Orientation, in the Nebraska Union from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will welcome students to campus, deliver wisdom and advice from university leaders and fellow students, and present the expectations of graduate students at Nebraska. A pre-orientation information session at 8:15 a.m. will cover policies and procedures unique to international students at UNL. The entire event will be live-streamed and archived for those taking online classes or otherwise unable to attend in person.

Friday’s Graduate Community Fair, outside on the Seaton Hall Quad from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will allow students to meet and mingle with one another, collect information from and connect with UNL and Lincoln resources, and enjoy complementary food and music. This is a family-friendly event, and attendees are welcome to bring partners, spouses, and children.
