Celebrate Lunar New Year from Jan. 31 to Feb. 7

In collaboration with the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services (OASIS), the Asian Student Union (ASU) hosts a week-long Lunar New Year celebration from Jan. 31 to Feb. 7.

The week includes activities for participants to learn about the cultural and historical significance of Lunar New Year, a holiday celebrated in many East and Southeast Asian countries.

The 2022 Lunar New Year celebration is hosted on:

  • Feb. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at OASIS Lounge
    Lucky Envelope
    Stop by and pick up your lucky envelope and treat for the new year.
  • Feb. 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Nebraska Union Unity Room
    Calligraphy Night
    Try traditional calligraphy and make new friends.
  • Feb.7 from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at Red Cloud B-C. Willa Cather
    Year of the Tiger Gala
    Celebrate the new year with a fashion show and Lion Dance performance. Participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothes. Registration is required.
